This sculpture piece is made of plaster of paris. At first sight, this art piece takes us back to some of Egypt’s most ancient images of gods/goddesses’. My concept is not much different. It relates to the how beautiful people ‘dress’ on Sundays/Saturdays, to worship their God. The term ‘dress’ does not necessarily refer to people’s physical attire but the persona in which they posses. The person you knew during the week is sometimes unrecognizable or rather suppressed on the day he/she worships their God. This is because it is a solemn day for that individual to show reverence and respect for their God. This new character, which they portray, is usually calm and righteous, because it depicts the behavior, which is pleasing to their God. I refer to this character as the face of God.
