Journey

This sculpture piece is made from plaster of paris. In the artwork there are three faces which represent the different stages in life. The curving design to the right of the faces depicts the flow of our character. The first face at the bottom, shows wave flows smoothly from the center directly behind the head and out. This face is the youngest and the waves are free flowing. This represents our character when we are young; we are just full of energy, playful and have very little to worry about. The second face in the middle is one of maturity. This is where most of the responsibility comes at you in life; work, parenthood, bills etc. The waves emitting from this face now gets thicker as they carry the weight of responsibility in them. For the final stage which is represented by the gray haired individual at the top, this point within your lives is where you stop working and give back by looking after and giving advice to sons/daughter and grandson/granddaughter so that they walk in the right path, preventing them from making the mistakes you made. The waves coming from this head flows down because it is giving back to the younger individuals so they may have an easier journey through life.
