My Queen

Rastafarian men often refer to their women as queens, because that is how they are

seen and treated in their culture. In this art piece, a model of a female Rastafarian is seen. Her eyes are closed, chin held high and with a slight smirk, her proudness for her culture and history is revealed. In addition, the title of royalty which she has been given, has made her aware of her self-worth and high moral standards. Irrespective of her lines of faults, which is represented by the lines on her neck, she is still seen as a queen in the Rastafarian society.
