Ras Medusa

This sculpture piece is created from clay (unfired). At first sight, this piece resembles the character Medusa. In Greek methodology Medusa is a hideous female human who has venomous snakes in place of hair. Those who gazed upon her face would turn to stone. This is contrary to the Rastafarian concept of females. They see all females as equal, being beautifully and wonderfully created by Jah. They see her hair as part of her beauty which is why her locks are let out in the artwork. Those who gaze upon her face would see a Queen so perfectly created by Jah to support and please her King.
